Securitron has excelled in product leadership starting with the first "E" profile magnetic lock in 1977, and moving to such products as the Touch Sense Bar, the first electronic electric lock releasing device utilizing the simple act of human touch. Innovation continues with Securitron's newer products. The BPS Series is the first Power Supplies to receive UL Class 2 rating with or without batteries. The SAM is the first shear type electromagnetic lock that utilizes no special timers or electronics to lock the door and the UnLatch® is the first motorized electric strike that can be installed in a 4-7/8" opening without damaging or altering the door frame - available for cylindrical and mortise locksets.
Because quality is critical in any installation, Securitron is dedicated to providing the highest quality security products in the industry. This commitment to quality was validated in March 1998 by receiving the prestigious ISO 9001 certification, making Securitron the first electric lock manufacturer to receive this honor.
In 1999, Securitron introduced the first "no strings attached" warranty program called MagnaCare®. MagnaCare® replaces any product that we manufacturer, for any failure reason, for the life of the installation. It was recognized by the Security Industry Association showcase with the Business Product Achievement Award in 1999 and 2000.
