Overview
HomeSeer Phone is an add-on application for HomeSeer that allows you to interact with your computer using your telephone. It will act as a standard answering machine allowing callers to leave messages. It includes a single mailbox answering mode as well as a multiple mailbox mode. Caller ID is captured and may be announced by HomeSeer using text-to-speech or WAV files. When messages are left, they may be forwarded by email to any email account, or a page may be sent. HomeSeer is notified of various phone events such as the phone ringing, the line being answered, messages left, or caller ID available. You can use any phone inside your home to connect to your computer and give it voice commands to trigger events. Events may be triggered by DTMF (touch tones) on any telephone keypad. Note that voice commands and touch tone commands may be used to control your computer from any remote telephone.
NOTE: This software requires either the Way2Call Hi-Phone telephone interface or the HomeSeer PCI Voice Modem and is available in bundles with these devices. No other modem or audio device is supported.
The software uses a simple high level scripting language to control the call flow. This makes it easy to create your own IVR (interactive response system) system.
