The HA02 Appliance Module is a Z-wave™ enabled device and is fully compatible with any Home Settings network and any Z-wave™ enabled network. Z-wave™ enabled devices displaying the Zwave™ logo can also be used with Home Settings modules and controllers regardless of the manufacturer, and Home Settings modules and controllers can also be used in other manufacturer’s Z-wave™ enabled networks. Each module in a Home Settings network is designed to act as a repeater. Repeaters will re-transmit the RF signal to ensure that the signal is received by its intended destination by routing the signal around obstacles and radio dead spots.

Home automation provides instant control of lights or appliances. By connecting a fluorescent light or an appliance to a Z-Wave Plug-in Appliance Module, you'll be able to control it remotely using a radio-frequency controller, so no wires need to be run, and you won't have to rely on power lines to get your commands to your appliance. The appliance module accepts timed signals, so you can schedule your fluorescent light to turn on at dusk, convenient if you're away from home. By using radio frequency technology, Z-Wave components require no wiring, and since each module includes a repeater function, adding more modules to your Z-Wave network actually improves reliability.
