The BC4/BCX-1 from BitWise Controls is the perfect way to allow HomeSeer to control and monitor (via Ethernet) a wide variety of external devices. The BCX-1 expansion module provides all external device connections, including multiple routed IR outputs, Relays, RS232, and GPIO. Other BCX- series expansion module configurations coming soon.
BC4/BCX-1 Advantages:
Built-in IR Library The BitWise Controls IR library includes support for thousands of equipment models from hundreds of manufacturers. And the BC4 Plugin’s HomeSeer interface allows you to browse the IR library by device-type, manufacturer, and codeset, test each IR key instantly, and add an entire BC4 IR “device” to HomeSeer in seconds. In the unlikely case the built-in IR library doesn’t include the necessary IR commands for your device, the on-board IR learner allows you to add custom learned IR keys to any BC4 IR device. The BCX-1’s IR learner LED even doubles as an IR Blaster for sending IR throughout an equipment cabinet or closet, in addition to the 4 standard IR emitter ports. Save time and energy with the BC4/BCX-1, the fastest, easiest, most complete way to add IR control to HomeSeer.
Configurable GPIO. Two incredibly flexible, highly configurable GPIOs (General Purpose Input Output) can be configured to act as a digital input, a digital output, or even an analog input. A third, internal GPIO measures count or frequency activity on GPIO #1. Unlike some competing products, you don’t have to give up an IR output port to be able to use an input.
Relays. Two SPDT Relays allow control of any external device which requires a standard contact closure.
RS232. The RS232 port can be used for one-way communication via the HomeSeer BC4 Plugin, or in full two-way mode via HomeSeer’s scripting interface for more advanced installations. Fast and easy RS232 control of remote devices.
PoE. The BC4 can be powered via a standard 12VDC wall adapter, or via PoE (Power over Ethernet), for uncluttered, convenient, and flexible installation. PoE makes it easy to install the BC4 in remote or tight locations.
Temperature Sensor. The BC4 has a built-in temperature sensor, which allows the HomeSeer BC4 Plugin to execute events based on BC4 temperature triggers and conditions. HomeSeer can use these triggers to take action which will prolong equipment life spans.
Tight HomeSeer Integration. The HomeSeer BC4 Plugin provides custom event Triggers, Conditions, and Actions according to the BC4 “Devices” which you have created and configured. BitWise Controls BC4 provides a complete, fast, and easy way to IP enable external devices in the HomeSeer environment.
